Daniel supports the investment process and business development executions for Formation Group. He also helps the team execute on operating plans for the portfolio companies in the US and Asia.
Before joining Formation Group, Daniel was an associate at the W Fund, which invests in early-stage technology startups originating from Washington State’s research institutions. He supported the COO on daily operations and helped with regulatory compliance for the fund and its portfolio companies. He also negotiated, analyzed, and drafted seed / Series A financing documents on behalf of the fund while conducting legal and business due diligence for potential investment opportunities.
Daniel earned a B.A. in Psychology with Honors from the University of California, San Diego and a J.D. from University of Washington with concentration in business law and entrepreneurship. During law school, he provided pro bono legal services for a variety of clients, ranging from high-tech startup to social purpose corporation through the Entrepreneurial Law Clinic. He advised his clients on matters such as VC financings, entity selection/ formation, and internal policy drafting.
