Chee Cheong Gay

Chee Cheong Gay is an Advisor of the Asia investment strategy at Formation Group based in Singapore. He sits on Heliconia Capital Management Pte Ltd Board where he chairs the Investment and Divestment Committee; Temasek Polytechnic Advisory Board of Governors where he chairs the Investment Committee; United World College of South East Asia Foundation Board where he chaired the inaugural Finance and Investment Committee; and Hyflux Limited as a member of the Investment Committee. He is a member of the National University Of Singapore Entrepreneurship Committee and a Board and Audit member of CapitaMall Trust Management Limited.

In 1997, he joined JIT Electronics Pte Limited as Group Executive Director where he initiated and listed JIT Electronics on the Stock Exchange of Singapore. In 2000, he initiated and led the merger of JIT Holdings with Flextronics International valuing JIT at S$1.16 billion.

In 2001, Chee Cheong cofounded and was the Deputy Chairman/CEO of 2G Capital Pte Ltd investing in equities and private companies in the Asia Pacific economies. 2G Capital was awarded the ‘Highest Net Profit’ in 2006 and ‘Profit Excellence’ in 2007 in the annual Singapore SME 500 Rankings.

Chee Cheong graduated from the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst, United Kingdom and received his B.Sc (Honours) in Electronics Engineering from the Royal Military College of Science, UK; B.Sc (Honours) in Economics from University of London; and MBA from National University of Singapore.
