Aaron Dongsuk Shin


Aaron is an Asia Investment Partner at Formation Group and had a similar role with Formation 8, focusing on South Korea. Aaron led investments in a variety of industries including virtual realty, big data, healthcare, consumer technology and entertainment. Through investments at Formation 8, Aaron serves on the boards of MyMusicTaste, MOOOVR and Rooy.

Most recently, Aaron co-founded Blue Button, a cross-border startup accelerator, and helped Korean startups expand into the U.S. market. Previously, Aaron served as an investment professional at Softbank Ventures Korea, a venture capital subsidiary of Softbank Corp., focusing on startup and growth stage companies in e-commerce, digital content and other technology sectors. Before Softbank Ventures Korea, Aaron joined Accenture and performed various consulting projects such as optimizing supply chain process, designing corporate performance evaluation framework and implementing new business strategies mostly for large corporations. Aaron began his career as a co-founder and CTO of NodeNIC in South Korea, where he invented a patented domain lookup technology and led software development.

Aaron earned a B.S. in Computer Science from Seoul National University in South Korea.
